These Dylan songs were apparently works in progress from the Shot of Love sessions. They were recorded from March to May 1981.

smelly said...: He went born again in 1977 after Sara, his wife of 12 years and mother of his four children, divorced him for all the fooling around he did on the Rolling Thunder tour '75-'76.
He "found God" and penned one mediocre album (Slow Train Coming) and one truly awful one (Saved) under Jesus' tutelage.

And Yes he does look ridiculous in that hat.
