The menatally ill comment was always my fav. I miss all the days at Dead shows but better yet was the Jerry shows. I caught Garcia after a Giant game at the Meadowlands some years ago and on of all nights. Halloween. That could have been the best day of my life. Tailgating with my Dad all day and then music, musis, music, all night. I was standing (on the moon)in the lot after the Giant game and my Dad staunch Irishman and a Republican, (so am I) was commenting all day about the dirty, lazy hippes congregating in the parking lot. As we are getting ready to leave the stadium I open the car door and start walking across the lot. Dad shouts out, "Where the hell are you going?". As I show him my ticket and say that I am meeting friends for the show, there was a look of "Christ, where did I get this kid from" in his eyes. Old Charlie just could not get the Dead thing. Sorry Charlie!
Many hours later my then fiance comes back to the Meadowlands to pick us up from the show and here comes three of us running across route 3 with 2 ballonns each in our hands for the "ride". Yup theme were some fun days. I am still O for in the decade and have only 3.5 years left. Yikes! Come on Smelly we have to keep my streak going!
I enjoyed a day fishing off sea Bright, NJ in Raritan Bay, 2 keeper fluke, 18" and 18.5". Had some fine Cheese for brunch in memory of jerry.
Jerry Garcia and fine cheese? More like a shot of heroine and snoot full of coke.
But anyway, how about one of those rich tunes? A good ole Brown Eyed Women would do ya good.
