I will leave the blog up for a while for archival purposes.

What's with being a sarcastic douche, for no reason?

I think you need to spend more time with people who know who you are and, presumably, have to put up with you, because I don't to the former, and I certainly don't to the latter.

I have some trepidation about coming in here to comment, but here goes...

Closing The Hubbub XXX without some explanation does raise questions:
1) Was it something somebody wrote?
2) Did you deem The Hubbub's B-side unsuccessful, irrelevant?
3) Are we to infer that the Rules on The Hubbub will be greatly loosened? Recent posts seem to have taken things a bit down the proverbial slippery slope.
4) If, in fact, a rules-easing is imminent, did you make this decision knowing full well that we'll lose the hater of misanthropes, Ace Starry, as a Contributor?
5) Do these potential new rules limit Comments to five numbered bullet points?

I was hoping to make the point more subtly, without having to explicitly state it, but the need for The Hubbub XXX has been, shall we say, un-necessitated by the fact that I will no longer be policing post content (as you may have noticed).

My original intent, was to keep the Hubbub focused on its stated mission of being a journal of the arts, language, blah, blah, blah.

But I have lost track of all the references to censorship in posts on this blog, which, I must say, are mind-boggling to me. It's like saying Architectural Digest is practicing censorship by not publishing editorials on the war in Iraq.

The Hubbub is not about politics and religion, thus I decided to not have a version of The Hubbub that was dedicated to that (The Hubbub XXX). I also decided that if The Contributors decided that the original Hubbub was appropriate place to post their views on these topics, so be it.

I don't think we will lose Ace, because I don't think are Contributos will abuse the freedoms afforded them.

We are a Journal of the Arts, Language, Entertainment, Culture and Pseudo-intellectuality.

So all I ask is that we be on topic, but I will the leave the interpretation of that to you.

Enough said.
